This document sets out the privacy statement (the “Statement”) implemented by Cocoapp (“COCOAPP” or “we”), the owner and developer of the Cocoapp application and its specialized modules, and the website www.cocoapp.com in order to ensure the preservation of the confidentiality of your personal or confidential information and respect for your privacy.
 

WHAT WE MEAN BY “PERSONAL INFORMATION”

“Personal information” is information concerning a natural person and used to identify them. For example, personal information may include name, contact details (postal address and telephone number, email address), date of birth as well as application access information.

This statement applies to the actions taken by Cocoapp with respect to the personal information of individuals and, depending on the context, with regard to confidential or sensitive information (collectively referred to as the “Information”) which is registered in Cocoapp in the context of use of the service.

1) COLLECTION OF INFORMATION

Cocoapp determines the purposes for which it collects personal information, either before or at the time of collection, unless those purposes are obvious. Cocoapp may collect and use information from a third party where permitted by law and with the consent of the individual in all other cases.

We collect information through our applications when you register as a customer. More specifically, we collect your name, email address, postal address and telephone numbers. To complete your registration, you will receive an email and an access code. It is your responsibility to ensure the confidentiality of your password. Once registered, you are allowed to change your password using the device provided for this purpose.

We also collect, through the forms on our website, the information you choose to send to us, such as your first name, last name and email address. The information collected makes it possible to respond to your request (e.g.: request for information) or to give you access to privileged resources (e.g.: promotions, webinars). The information collected allows us to establish your customer, visitor or other profile and to better meet your needs. The information collected through web forms is only used by Cocoapp.

To improve your Internet browsing experience, most websites use small data files called cookies that are stored on your computer.

Cocoapp uses browser memory functions to recognize visitor paths on the site and we favor the method available with the advent of HTML5, namely the use of local web storage. However, when HTML5 cannot be used, we use a cookie-based approach (“cookies”).

Cocoapp uses two types of cookies: persistent cookies, which allow the visitor to be recognized from one session to the next, and session cookies which expire when the browser is closed.

These cookies allow us to compile visit and preference statistics, measure site traffic, better understand your use, evaluate whether our site meets your needs and offer you products or services that may be of interest to you. . We also collect the information you enter in site forms in order to offer you a better experience the next time you fill out a site form again. Please note that under no circumstances will these cookies extract data from your hard drive or any other personal information whatsoever, and under no circumstances will this information be communicated to external organizations .

2) USE OF INFORMATION

Cocoapp does not use its customer information in any way and undertakes not to rent, sell or share its customer or recipient lists to third parties. Under no circumstances will Cocoapp sell, give or exchange your Information to third parties for commercial purposes. Furthermore, the data stored in the Cocoapp platform are the property of Cocoapp customers and they undertake to respect this confidentiality statement.

Generally, we use your information to perform the service, for billing purposes, and in some cases to resolve technical issues.

Cocoapp may have to reveal your information to competent persons or authorities if this proves necessary to comply with legal obligations or to obey a legal injunction, to protect and defend its rights or to enforce the terms of use of its service.

3) PROTECTION OF INFORMATION

Cocoapp complies in particular with the Personal Information Protection Act of Canada or any other applicable law as well as with the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector of Quebec. Cocoapp employs various measures to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of your information. These measures are intended to prevent the loss or theft of your information, as well as its unauthorized reproduction, modification, use, consultation and disclosure.

Our website and applications are secured using industry-recognized technologies. Only authorized personnel may have access to your information, and only for the purposes stated herein or dictated by the service offered. Agreements are also signed between Cocoapp and its employees to ensure that your information is used in a manner consistent with this statement and any applicable laws, rules and regulations.

4) EXCEPTION

We undertake to obtain your consent, should we ever wish to use or disclose your information for purposes other than those specifically described in this statement.

Depending on the nature of the information, your consent may be provided orally, by means of a form or correspondence or, in certain cases, implicitly if your consent can be clearly deduced from the actions taken.

5) STORAGE DURATION OF INFORMATION

Cocoapp retains your personal information for as long as it is reasonably needed for the specified purposes of providing services or as required by law.

Third party cookies are kept on your browser usually between 30 to 90 days, possibly longer in certain cases (e.g.: Google Analytics cookies).

6) DELETION OF INFORMATION

Specifically, under the Facebook private data deletion program, you only need to delete the Facebook Cocoapp app. The deletion confirmation code can be validated here. Once data deletion is requested and account ownership is confirmed, the data deletion request enters our queue. Typically, data is deleted within 4 hours of the initial request. During the deletion process, data is securely purged from Cocoapp databases and servers. All associated backup and log data will be deleted within 30 calendar days. Once data is deleted, it cannot be recovered.

7) ACCURACY AND UPDATED INFORMATION

We attempt to keep the information in our clients’ files up to date so that it remains accurate, complete and up to date. It is therefore important to notify us of any relevant changes to your personal information or business contact details. You are also authorized to consult your file in order to verify the accuracy of the information concerning you by all means made available to you for this purpose.

Recipients of email messages from our customers are invited to communicate directly with the customer to correct or validate the personal information relating to their subscription(s) to these mailings.

8) EVOLUTION OF THIS DECLARATION

This statement may be updated from time to time. Cocoapp reserves the right to modify this declaration at its discretion, by adding or deleting certain terms.
